Sabria Hernandez, De’avion Aubert, Rob, and Anthony Lisbon Died: The Four Lives Lost in a Fiery Crash After a Police Chase in Dallas

A police chase that started in Irving ended in a fiery crash in downtown Dallas early Thursday morning, killing four people in the stolen vehicle and injuring a sheriff’s deputy.
How It Happened
According to the Irving Police Department, officers located a stolen car around 2 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Belt Line Road and tried to pull it over. The driver refused to stop and sped away, leading the police on a high-speed chase into Dallas.
The car was traveling at a very fast speed on southbound Interstate 35E, when it took the Woodall Rodgers ramp. The driver did not slow down and lost control of the car, which flew off the ramp and landed on the grassy median below the highway near the Dallas North Tollway exit. The car burst into flames on impact, killing all four occupants.
A Dallas County sheriff’s deputy who was trying to lay out spike strips along the highway was also injured in the crash. A light pole fell onto his squad car as the stolen car crashed. He was taken to a hospital with a minor injury to his arm and is expected to recover.

Who Were the Victims
The four people who died in the crash have been identified as Sabria Hernandez, 22, De’avion Aubert, also known as DeDe, 22, Rob, 21, and Anthony Lisbon, 21. They were all from Dallas and had criminal records, according to the police.
Hernandez had been arrested several times for theft, burglary, and drug possession. She had a 4-year-old son who is now in the custody of his grandmother. Aubert had been convicted of robbery and assault and was on parole. Rob had been charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest. Lisbon had been arrested for theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
The police said they do not know why the four were in the stolen car or where they were going. They also do not know if they were armed or if they had any connection to the owner of the car, who reported it stolen on Wednesday.
What Are the Consequences
The crash caused a massive traffic jam in the area, as both the northbound and southbound ramps from I-35E to Woodall Rodgers were closed for hours. The Continental Avenue exit was also closed. The ramps and the exit have since reopened.

The crash also raised questions about the police pursuit policy and the risks involved. The Irving Police Department said its policy allows officers to chase stolen vehicles, but they have to constantly monitor the situation and ensure safety. The department said it is reviewing the pursuit and the crash to see if any policy violations occurred.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said it is also investigating the crash and the deputy’s involvement. The office said it is grateful that the deputy was not seriously injured and that no other innocent bystanders were hurt.
The crash also left a trail of grief and sorrow for the families and friends of the four victims, who are mourning their loss and remembering their lives. Some of them have set up online fundraisers to help with funeral expenses and other needs.
