He has been titled the Pioneer of India’s automotive industry because he brought Toyota to India. He was the chairperson of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM).

After the attack, he was sent to Manipal Hospital situated on Airport Road in Bengaluru. He was sent to the hospital on the morning of 29th November 2022 where he was declared dead by the doctors.
His cremation ceremony was done at Hebbal Crematorium at 1. pm.

Born as a member of the Fourth Generation of the Kirloskar Group, Vikram Kirloskar was rejuvenated in the year 1958 in Pune, Maharashtra. He spent his maximum life in Bengaluru. He got the privilege to complete his schooling at Lawrence School in Ooty, Tamil Naidu. He did very well in his education. In his school, he remained active in badminton.
Vikram Kirloskar did aero modeling and sculpting to build model airplanes during his school time. His interest in sculpting airplanes hinted at his interest in engineering and manufacturing. Doing good in his school academic he went on to have his degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,

Being a son of the Kirloskar family Vikram Kirloskar was connected to the Kirloskar group which manufactures different mechanical products. Kirloskar group runs companies named Kirloskar Brothers Limited, Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Kirloskar Brothers Limited, and Kirloskar Chillers Private Limited.
He began his career in the Kirloskar group as a trainee in manufacturing at Kirloskar Cummins in Pune where he introduced new innovation and technology for the company.
