Student of the Year is a romantic comedy-drama movie that revolves around the college students Abhimanyu (Sidharth Malhotra), Shanaya Singhania (Alia Bhatt), and Rohan (Varun Dhawan). This film remained successful in entertaining the audience. It was released under the budget of 60 Crore INR and accumulated a box office collection of 110 Crore INR.

Student of the Year movie begins with the scene of ill dean Mr. Yogi of St. Teresa’s College lying in bed. He requests to meet the student of the last batch. And then the movie goes in a flashback where three students Abhimanyu, Shanaya, and Rohan were introduced to the audience. Rohan use to be handsome and the son of the trustee of the college. Shanaya also belongs to a rich family due to which she remains a popular girl in her college. She use to be Rohan’s girlfriend. But she doesn’t like Rohan’s flirty behavior. A new student Abhimanyu from a middle-class family enters college with a dream to become rich one day.
Later Rohan and Abhimanyu became good friends after playing a football match. Then Rohan Introduced him to Shanaya. All three became good friends and spend a good time with each other. Circle of Abhi, Rohan, and Shanaya became famous in college as best friends.
Later they visit one of their friend’s wedding where Shanaya found Rohan flirting with another girl and feel betrayed. She then teases Rohan and starts flirting with Abhimanyu. After a few Abhi days realizes that he has fallen in true love with Shanaya. Then a dance competition is announced in the college in which these three friends participate.
While practicing a dance with Abhi, Shanaya realizes that she has real feelings of love for Abhi. Meanwhile Abhi’s grandmother died and Shanaya helps him to overcome the trauma. While supporting Abhi, Shanaya shares a tender kiss with Abhi and expresses her love for him. Rohan spots both of the kissing which raises a fight between Abhi and Rohan.
Rohan decided to win the dance competition against Abhi and Shanaya.
When the dance battle began all three friends compete with each other. Shanaya in between left the dance battle leading Abhi and Rohan to compete with each other. After a long dance battle, Abhi slows down and lets Rohan win the dance. And from here movie returns back in the present.
In the present Rohan and Abhi visit to meet Dean Mr. Yogi. Shanaya also comes with Abhi as she is married to him at present. When Rohan and Abhi face each other they forget their past and patch up again as friends. The movie ends with a happy ending.
