When proud lady Melissa started her teaching career she was unaware of the challenges that will come in her life. At that time she never thought of how challenging it will be for her to help students. First, she started teaching second-grade students at Saginaw Chippewa Academy. At that time one of her students lost his one parent due to suicide and the other due to cancer.
Mrs. Isaac had earlier worked as Director of Education at Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe till January 2022. She noticed the first time that the class kid is passing from emotional trauma after his parent’s death. At that time her journey to help kids with mental issues started. In the beginning, she doesn’t know how to deal with students suffering from mental health except to give them hugs and love.
Later stepping further in her career she taught separately a student who had lost his rich parents and got involved in emotional trauma. Her that student was in need of emotional help. That time Isaac helped her student to come out of trauma.
Now years of her experience of bringing kids out of emotional trauma and mental health issue has made her a re-known personality.
Earlier she started a project called AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education.) She has remained the most powerful driving force and personality behind this project. Through this project that she has started at the Saginaw Chippewa Academy, MT Please and Shepherd School Districts have helped many tribal students.
