Jolanta Gontarczyk who earlier worked as a professor at the Institute of Teacher Training in Łódź before moving to German worked has then worked in different positions.
She was the president of ChSWN before the death of Father Blachnicki. At that time she also worked as a delegate of the Polish government in exile in Carlsberg. After she returned to Poland she was introduced as Jolanta, the announcer of Radio “Free Europe”.
While living in Poland she took part in the Feminist movement. B/w 1991-1994 she served as Secretary General for the Democratic Union of Women as vice president and member for which she raises issues of Same-sex relationship legal legalization.
As a politician, she competed for the Sejm of the Republic of Poland in the 3rd term which she did not win after gaining 5409 votes. In 1998 she became a councilor of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship after gaining 11316 votes. She then lost her re-election for Councilor.

In 2004 Jolanta Gontarczyk became a deputy director of the Department of Public Administration at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. In 2010 Jolanta worked for the project Warsaw Variety which was ruined for the LGBTQ community people, people with disabilities, and anti-discrimination education.
