GATE Previous Year Papers: Download Branch-Wise Model Papers PDF Links:- GATE is an exam conducted annually for candidates who are seeking admissions into engineering and sciences for master’s programs, in various premium institutes such as IITs. Also, based on GATE scores many PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) provides jobs offers. Financial help is also provided to candidates who have qualified GATE. Please note, that the GATE score of a candidate is valid for 3 years from the date of announcement of the result.

What is GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)?

This exam consists of 65 questions (multiple–choose questions), Multiple selection questions, and Numerical writing questions. According to the latest guidelines, the 15 % weightage is provided to the General Aptitude part, 13 % weightage to Mathematics, and the other remaining 72 % marks are dedicated to subject-specific questions. However, there’s an exception to the above marks distribution. Subject like Architecture & planning, Chemistry, Ecology, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, and Life sciences, has 15% weightage of General aptitude and the remaining 85% towards to subject-specific domain.

• What are the type of questions which comes in GATE?

There can be three type of question, they are as follows:

– MCQ (Multiple choice questions)

– MSQ (Multiple selection based questions)

– NAT (Numerical Answer Type question)

• What is the total number of questions and marks in GATE?

There are 65 questions in a question paper and it consists of 100 maximum marks.

• How many sections are there in GATE Exam?

There are 3 sections (General Aptitude, Mathematics and subject specific) except in the paper of following subjects:

-AR, MA, CY, PH, EY, XL and GG

• What is the Marking Scheme?

-1 marks MCQ (-0.33 negative marking)

-2 marks MCQ (-0.66 negative marking)

-1 and 2 marks MSQ (No negative marking)

-1 and 2 marks NAT (No negative marking)
