Chandra gained the attention of the audience after she posted a picture of her with her boyfriend Arun Sudarsan, which was once published in The Times of India newspaper in the year 2016 when the IAS exams result was about to be out.
On June 29, 2021, she shared it on her Twitter account and described that it was when she was roaming with her then-boyfriend in rain to stress out and now they both are happily married and she took this photo as a challenge and got selected for IAS at very next year.

After completing her education in Humanities and Social Sciences, Chandni cleared Civil Services Examination in the year 2016 and did her training at LABSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration).
Later she was assigned to the South Tripura district as an Assistant Collector. Presently Chandni is a Director, School Education & State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Tripura.
As a motivational speaker and inspiration for many girls, she goes to various schools and colleges to inspire the youth. In fact, she also conducts classes and seminars.
