Karanj aka Silent Killer – Indian Navy Gets Scorpene-Class Submarine INS

On March 10, 2021, the Indian Navy finally gets the INS Karanj submarine which is the third submarine of the Kalvari-class. The super silent sub crawls the deep seas and is called the silent killer.
It is built indigenously at Mazgaon Dockyard, Mumbai and its’ name is Karanj. It is a state-of-the-art submarine that offers the best technology available today. All the learnings of having built two submarines before this enhanced and refined the manufacturing capabilities to make Karanj a better platform.
She was launched on 31st January 2018 as a testimony to the Make in India spirit. A very few in this world have the honor and privilege to inherit a legacy like this. Having said that, it is the immense responsibility of the Indian Navy who are on board.
