Digital Security Code Added To CoWin Portal, Bots Attacks on Vaccine Appointments

Mumbai, April 8, 2021 – Amid reports of bots interfering in vaccine appointments, the digital security code has been added to the COWIN portal. So phone number digital code will be given in for vaccination and will be given to the vaccinator. The vaccinated assurance message will also pop up after the code. Right, so a new change in the COVID app.
After reports of bots, which were interfering in the vaccine appointments, the COVID app has been given an overhaul which is limiting the number of API calls. So these API calls were being made by third parties to get information and real-time information about vaccination slots, which were being open. Now a two-factor verification of slots has been done, where a digital security code will be given.
And this digital security code which is a phone number code will be given to the vaccinator so that there is two-factor authentication, and the vaccinated assurance message as well will pop up after the code. So API’s which were formed by third-party sources were interfering with the vaccination, as a lot of people were getting slots booked by these bots. But now a digital security code has been added to COWIN. It will produce a phone number digital security code and this code will be given to the vaccinator. The vaccinated assurance message will pop up after the code as well.
