On March 13, 2021, it was announced that the former BJP leader, Union Minister in Vajpayee government, Yashwant Sinha has joined the Trinamool Congress. Regarding this matter, there is a press conference going on currently.
Yashwant Sinha is a former Indian minister. He remained a minister in the Vajpayee cabinet and served as the Union Minister in the Vajpayee government. He’s a former BJP leader. He’s now gone ahead and joined the Trinamool Congress.
How this is going to impact the BJP and TMC both, yet remains to be seen. People are also expecting a reaction to come in from the Bharatiya Janata Party. In fact, he held the Office of the Minister of External Affairs of India from 2000 to 2004.
He was the finance minister at one point as well. Yashwant Sinha is a former Indian administrator and a very successful politician. He is also a former Minister of Finance and a very senior leader in the Bharatiya Janta Party. He quit the party in 2018. And now he is with the Trinamool Congress.
It’s official, he joins the Trinamool Congress on March 13, 2021. It will be a setback to the BJP because considering that there have been a string of leaders from the Trinamool Congress who has jumped shift to the BJP because they’ve been disgruntled with the party.
Now it is from the BJP leader that to senior leader crossing over to Trinamool Congress, which is a big morale boost for the ruling party. But for the BJP to do someone like Yashwant Sinha ahead of the election poll would definitely be a setback.
However, BJP is very confident with its leaders. Senior leaders campaigning here in West Bengal and of course, many others who’ve jumped shift from the Trinamool Congress that’s the saffron party will invest in West Bengal despite these leaders making their way to the silver concrete.
