SBP Issues New Rs. 75 Pakistan Banknote on the 75th Anniversary of Pakistan

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a new commemorative banknote of Rs. 75 on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. The banknote was unveiled in a ceremony held on July 4, 2023, by Governor SBP Jameel Ahmed, who said that this day holds immense significance for the nation and the bank.
Features of New Rs. 75 Pakistan Banknote
The new banknote has several features that reflect the history, culture, and values of Pakistan. Some of these features are:

- The portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the front symbolizes his influential role in the creation and development of Pakistan.
- The image of Fatima Jinnah on the back honors her contributions as a leader, activist, and sister of Quaid-e-Azam.
- The representation of windmills on the back highlights the importance of alternative energy sources for sustainable development.
- The calligraphy of the SBP building on the back showcases the architectural grandeur and heritage of the bank.
- The security features such as watermark, security thread, latent image, and see-through register to prevent counterfeiting.
The banknote has a size of 155 x 65 mm and a predominant color of green. It bears the signatures of Governor SBP and Secretary Finance.
Availability and Circulation
The banknote will be available for public issue from September 30, 2023. It will be a one-time release and will not be reprinted. It will circulate along with the existing banknotes of Rs. 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000.
The SBP has advised the public to exchange their old and worn-out banknotes at any branch of commercial banks or SBP offices across the country.
