Larry Korchinski Death Cause And Obituary: A Beloved Husband, Father, and Lawyer

Larry Korchinski, a prominent lawyer and a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Karen, and his four children, Ryan, Lauren, Kyle, and Kaitlyn. He is also survived by his mother, Helen, his brother, Ken, his sister, Donna, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Larry Korchinski was born on June 15, 1960, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to John and Helen Korchinski. He grew up in a close-knit family and enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, and golf. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1985 and joined the law firm of MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman LLP (now MLT Aikins LLP), where he spent his entire legal career.
Korchinski was a respected and accomplished lawyer who specialized in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and corporate governance. He was recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Canada by various publications and directories, such as The Best Lawyers in Canada, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and Chambers Canada. He was also a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers and a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
He was passionate about his work and dedicated to his clients, but he always put his family first. Larry Korchinski was a loving and supportive husband to Karen, whom he married in 1987. He was a proud and caring father to his four children, whom he cherished and encouraged. He was a fun and generous uncle to his nieces and nephews, whom he spoiled and entertained. He was a loyal and kind friend to many, whom he valued and respected.
Korchinski had a zest for life and a sense of humor that brightened any room. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, skiing, and watching sports, especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was an avid reader, a music lover, and a trivia buff. He was a man of faith, a community leader, and a philanthropist. He was a role model, a mentor, and an inspiration to many.
Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, colleagues, and clients.
A funeral service will be held on December 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Saskatoon, followed by a reception at the Delta Bessborough Hotel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Larry Korchinski Memorial Fund, which will support various charities and causes that Larry cared about.
