The Blue Lagoon movie is a 1980 romantic survival drama directed by Randal Kleiser. It is a story based on the 1908 Novel The Blue Lagoon by Henry De Vere Stackpole. The story begins in the late Victorian period and shows the lifestyle of two young children who use to be cousins of each other.

After introducing the character in the beginning few minutes of the movie director moves to the scene of Puberty time of both Richard and Emmeline. They both seem to be under stress when they entered the Puberty age due to a lack of education and knowledge of human sexuality. At that time Emmeline got attracted to Richard and started feeling uncomfortable and started sitting far from him. Emmeline does all this because she raises fear of her first menstrual period. She raised her fear high and refuses Richard to come near to her and inspect what she feels these days
Then the story took a turn when Richard also starts feeling attractive sexually to Emmeline. They both came to know about their sexual desire as they grew up and when Emmeline’s menstrual days come she makes fool of Richard to go to the other side of the island to pray with her. But Richard didn’t agree and argued with Emmeline.
Then Richard tries to convince her for sexual contact to which Emmeline didn’t agree and then hides in some place from Emmeline and starts masturbating.
Later Emmeline came to know about Richard’s masturbation and stats blackmailing him that she will tell his uncle Mr. Arthur about his masturbating habit.
Then a fight between them causes a serious injury to Emmeline leading her to death. Richard gets fears losing Emmeline and tries to do whatever Emmeline says to him. He took Emmeline to the other side of the Island and place her on the altar and begins offering prayers to god.
The story moves ahead when Emmeline’s health gets good and they both go for a swim in the ocean naked and have sexual intercourse there. Richard without knowing the result of the sex makes Emmeline Pregnant. But they both never recognize the Pregnancy symptoms and believe that it is Emmeline’s stomach that is causing her problems.

Later after a few months, Emmeline gave birth to a baby and they both give their kid the name Paddy. Then the movie moves to the end when Richard’s father reaches the shore on the ship and sees him playing with his kid and wife. But Richard and Emmeline run from the shore when they notice Richard’s father approaching them and hiding them making fool of Arthur that what he saw was not his son.
A few months later Richard designs the boat to visit their original birthplace.
When they were about to sail Richard goes to bring Banana leaving Emmeline and Paddy inside the boat. But Paddy took secretly a branch of scarlet berries into the boat which helps him to survive later. And unknowingly both Paddy and Emmeline get drifted towards the mid of the oceans. Emmeline shouts to Richard for help. Richard reaches her while swimming and fighting with a shark. But later even Richard gets succeeds in reaching the boat their boats drifted to the sea. They keep on drifting for a day and loss their hope of finding the shore and waiting for death.
But in the meanwhile, Richard’s father Arthur’s ship finds the couple with their baby and saves them.
