Ponniyin Selvan (2022) is a forthcoming Historical, drama, fantasy, and family Indian movie in the Tamil Language. It is directed by an Indian producer, writer, and director named Mani Ratnam. The story of the film is based on the novel named ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. According to Wikipedia, it is the first sequel of the movie. The film ‘Ponniyin Selvan (2022)’ is based on the struggle for power between 900 A.D – 950 A.D.
It dictates the story of the Chozha dynasty. The 3 main characters are Sundara Chozhan (Old Sundara played by Amitabh Bachchan and young played by Sarath Kumar) and his sons Arulmozhivarman (played by Jayam Ravi) and Adithya Karikalan (played by Vikram). The story takes an interesting turn after all three characters fight for power.
According to the relevant sources, the download link of the film is leaked online for free on some pirated websites such as Filmygod, Tamildhool, Mkvhub.com, worldfree4u, khatrimaza, XplayTamil, HDFriday, and others. The film is produced by a famous Tamil businessman named Allirajah Subaskaran along with Mani Ratnam. It is produced under the production houses Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies.
The shooting for the film began on 11 December 2019 in Thailand. Later, the film was shot in Puducherry, Hyderabad, Chennai, and others places. The filming was paused in mid-2021 due to high cases of Coronavirus but it resumed in July 2021. As of now, the film is decided to release in April 2022.
The lead role of Sundara Chozha is played by two characters. The young Sundara is played by Sarath Kumar and the old Sundara is played by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. The role of Sundara Chozha’s son is acted by Vikram and Jayam Ravi. The other entertainers of the movie are Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Rajsekhar Aningi, Rahman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and others.
