Kaithi (2019) shows that Dilli (played by Karthi), is an ex-convict, who was bailed from the prison. He was very excited to meet his 10-year-old daughter. On the same night, he was detained by the police again for suspecting that he is involved in the smuggling of a ton of cocaine. After Inspector Bejoy got unconscious after drinking something poisonous at a retirement party, Dilli and one more officer decide to save the lives of all the police officers.
He also fought with many goons to protect the inspector and other policemen, who wanted to kill them to retrieve the lorry of cocaine.
