Recap of Previous Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute Chapter 58
In the previous chapter, we saw that Cid and his shadow garden members infiltrated the royal palace to rescue Princess Alexia, who was kidnapped by the Diabolos cult. They encountered several enemies along the way, including the masked assassin who tried to kill Cid before. Cid managed to defeat him with his shadow magic and unmasked him, revealing his identity as Prince Edward, Alexia’s older brother. Cid was shocked by this revelation, but he quickly realized that Edward was brainwashed by the cult and decided to save him instead of killing him.
Meanwhile, Alexia was held captive by the cult leader, who revealed his plan to use her as a sacrifice to summon the demon lord. He also revealed that he was the one who killed Cid’s parents in his previous world and that he was the reincarnation of the demon lord himself. He taunted Cid for being a weak and pathetic hero who failed to save his world and his family. He then stabbed Alexia in the chest, causing her to scream in pain.
Cid heard Alexia’s scream and rushed to her location, only to find her lying in a pool of blood. He was enraged by the sight and unleashed his full power, destroying the cult leader and his minions. He then held Alexia in his arms and tried to heal her wound, but it was too late. Alexia thanked Cid for coming to save her and confessed her love for him. She then closed her eyes and stopped breathing, leaving Cid in despair.
