He excelled in his studies and earned his associate degree in 1989.
After graduation, Adams joined Frank Fletcher Toyota, a dealership owned by Frank Fletcher, a prominent businessman and philanthropist in Joplin. Jim started as a service technician and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a service manager, a sales manager, and eventually, the General Manager of the dealership in 2001. He was also a co-owner of The Adams Lodge LLC, a luxury resort and event venue in Joplin, along with his wife, Lisa Adams, and his brother, Mark Adams.
Adams was known for his dedication to providing fast, friendly, and efficient service to his customers, his team, and his community.
