The Memphis Police Department confirmed that they were “flagged down” at 4.15 pm local time “on a shooting at 6385 Winchester”. They said that “a male was located on the scene and exported to St Francis (hospital) where he was pronounced deceased. A second male arrived at St Francis by private vehicle. He is listed as critical.” The police did not confirm the identities of the victims, but Fox 13 and other sources reported that it was Anthony Mims who was killed, and the other victim was his friend and business partner.
The police also said that they did not have a “clear” suspect identified at this time, but that they were evaluating “video evidence” from the incident. They asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
