Ajay Stiles Death And Obituary: The Brave and Faithful Student Who Died from a Seizure
Ajay Stiles was a senior student at Minford High School who died from complications of a seizure on January 23, 2024. He was 18 years old. He had been battling a brain tumor for several months, and had undergone surgery in November 2023. Despite his health challenges, he was a sweet, polite, brave, and positive young man who loved his family, friends, and God.
A Passionate Musician and a Devoted Christian
Ajay was a member of the Minford High School band, where he played the trumpet. He had a passion for music and enjoyed listening to different genres, especially Christian rock. He also sang in the choir at his church, Grace Fellowship, where he was an active member. Ajay Stiles often brought his Bible to school and used it as a prop for his senior pictures. He had a strong faith in God and believed that He had a plan for him.
One of his favorite Bible verses was John 14:1-4, which reads: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”
Ajay’s faith and optimism inspired many people around him, especially his family and friends. His mother, Amy Stiles, said that he was always smiling and cheerful, even when he was in pain. His father, Jason Stiles, said that he was proud of his son’s courage and resilience. His sister, Ava Stiles, said that he was her best friend and her hero. His band director, Mr. Jones, said that he was a talented musician and a leader in the band. His classmates, teachers, and coaches said that he was a kind, respectful, and helpful student who always gave his best.
A Community in Mourning and in Support

The school postponed the evening’s sporting events, and instead, classmates and their parents gathered in the school’s gym to comfort each other and offer prayers for the family of Ajay. The school also provided counselors and chaplains for students and staff who needed emotional support.

Some of his friends shared photos and videos of him playing the trumpet, singing in the choir, or hanging out with them. Some of his teachers and mentors shared stories and memories of him in the classroom, on the field, or at the church. Some of his relatives and neighbors shared how he touched their lives with his kindness and faith.
A candlelight vigil was held on January 24, 2024, at the Grace Fellowship Church, where hundreds of people attended to honor and celebrate Ajay’s life. His family, friends, and pastor spoke about his legacy and his impact on the world. They also sang some of his favorite songs and read some of his favorite scriptures. They released balloons into the sky, each with a message of love and hope for Ajay.

A funeral service will be held on January 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Fellowship Church, followed by a burial at the Minford Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Minford High School Band or the Grace Fellowship Church in Ajay’s name.
