Gurugram Police Arrest 10 Sharpshooters of Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldie Brar Gang

In a major crackdown on organized crime, the Gurugram Police have arrested 10 sharpshooters of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi–Goldie Brar gang from different locations in Haryana. The police have also recovered 10 pistols, 30 live cartridges, and two cars from their possession.
The Arrests
According to Varun Dahiya, ACP (Crime), Gurugram, the arrests were made after a tip-off from a reliable source that some members of the gang were planning to execute a big crime in the city. The police formed several teams and conducted raids at various places in Haryana.

All of them have criminal records and are wanted in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, and kidnapping in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab.

The Gang
The Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldie Brar gang is one of the most notorious and dreaded gangs operating in north India. The gang is led by Lawrence Bishnoi, a former student leader of Panjab University who turned into a gangster after getting involved in several criminal activities. He has over two dozen cases against him and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
His close associate Goldie Brar, also known as Satinder Singh, is based in Canada and is wanted in several cases of murder and extortion. He is also accused of masterminding the killing of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala in May this year.

The gang has over 700 shooters across the country and is involved in various illegal activities such as contract killing, extortion, drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and betting. The gang has also threatened to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan for his involvement in the black buck hunting case.
The gang has a rivalry with other gangs such as Kala Jatheri, Jaipal Bhullar, and Kaushal. The gang has carried out several attacks on its rivals and their associates in the past.
The Investigation
The police are interrogating the arrested accused to get more information about their plans and their links with other gang members. The police are also trying to trace the source of their weapons and vehicles.
The police have also alerted other states about the arrests and are coordinating with them to nab more members of the gang.
The police have claimed that the arrests have dealt a major blow to the gang and have prevented a possible crime in Gurugram.
