Government Postponed UGC-NET Exams Amid Covid-19 Surge

Delhi, 20 April 2021 – After class 12th, NEET, and IIT JEE the center has now postponed the UGC-NET or national eligibility test examinations. The revised dates will be announced 15 days before the exams are to be conducted. Every year lakhs of students appear for the UGC net exams for qualifying as assistant professors and for obtaining Junior Research Fellowship. But given the surge NET exams was used to begin on the second of May, they have now been postponed.
The Education Minister HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted that the UGC-NET is conducted by the National testing agency or NTA, on behalf of the University Grants Commission for determining the eligibility of assistant professors in universities and for awarding the Junior Research Fellowship.

However, looking at the present situation of the covid 19 pandemic, and also take into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and the examination functionaries, it has now been decided to postpone the UGC-NET December 2020 cycle examination.
