6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Assam, Tremors Felt Across Northeast Part of India

Sonitpur, 28 April 2021– A major earthquake measuring 6.4 earthquakes on the Richter scale has jolted northeast India. This morning the earthquake originated in Assam and tremors were filled across Assam, North Bengal, and other parts of the Northeast. So this is the latest that we are getting to hear a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hitting Assam, obviously jolting the northeast and part of the country in the northern part of Bengal also, which is an adjoining area.

People they’re standing outside, this is an of many of them being rudely woken up with a shock from the beds. And around 8:15 am this earthquake happened, which was just 15 minutes ago, and people have run out of their houses to safety downstairs, this is what we’re learning as of now. In the Delhi NCR region, the earthquake was felt, and obviously around eight o’clock this morning 30 minutes ago, this earthquake which jolted the northeastern part of the country Assam was felt.

The primary report, what we have is like the earthquake was of a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter scale and Epicenter seem to be 12 kilometers north of Sonitpur district of Assam. And in Guwahati, if we can say there have been damages reported in various areas, especially Taj Vivanta, Vivanta by Taj hotel has reported serious damages, and several apartments have been seemed to be destroyed. Moreover, Apolo clinic, the first and second floor of Apollo clinic is also destroyed and in fact, reports are coming in of damages incurred during this earthquake. But of course, many people were jolted by this massive earthquake which was massive in fact.

Massive Earthquake With 6.7 Magnitude Hits Assam; Epicentre At Tezpur

After 1983, the People of the Northeast did not feel this much of a jolt, but the 6.7 magnitude in the Richter scale is large. And, and reports of damages coming in how much damage has been incurred because of this earthquake, but people are feeling aftershocks also because of this earthquake. And now, In fact, I can see people are still standing in the streets hearing of more earthquakes. But they do not understand aftershocks.
