All 86 Railway COVID Hospitals will have their Own Oxygen Plants

New Delhi – All 86 of the railway’s COVID hospitals will soon have oxygen plants of their own. A statement from the Ministry has said that it was planning massive capacity enhancement in 86 Railway hospitals across India which have been identified as COVID hospitals. While four oxygen plants are already functional 52 have been sanctioned and 30 are under various stages of processing.

General managers of the zonal railways have been delegated further powers up to two crore rupees. In each case for sanctioning oxygen generation plants, a series of measures have been initiated for the treatment of railway staff and their families.

The number of beds for COVID treatments has been increased from 2539 to 6972. The ICU beds in COVID hospitals have been increased from 273 to 573. Invasive ventilators have been added and their numbers have been increased from 62 to 296.

I would say a welcome move from the railway’s ministry is and also giving much relief to the people across the length and breadth of the country.

So, now the country is fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Now railways are planning to expand 86 hospitals across the country, which have been identified as COVID hospitals by equipping them with oxygen plants.

Now 86 COVID hospitals will have their oxygen plants which would also assurance backend infrastructure to handle medical emergencies. Currently, four oxygen plants are functional and 52 are sanctioned while 30 oxygen plans are under various phases of processing.

Now also as a part of this process, the number of beds for COVID treatments has been increased from 2539 to 6927. Invasive ventilators have been added and their numbers increased from 62 to 296. And also efforts are being made to add critical medical equipment like BiPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders in Railway hospital.
