Kevin Conroy Death: Batman’s Voice Actor has Died at the Age of 66

New York – Kevin Conroy, the longtime voice of Batman in the animated DC Universe has died. News of his passing was confirmed in a press release on November 11 posted on DC Comics Official Site revealing Conroy had a brief battle with cancer. Connery took on the iconic role of the Dark Knight in Batman’s The Animated Series in 1992.
He continued to voice the comic book character on TV’s Batman Beyond popular video game franchises, animated movies, and other Batman-related projects.

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who worked alongside Conroy in Batman as the voice of the Joker remembers his dear friend saying:-
Kevin was a brilliant actor. For several generations, he has been the definitive Batman, it was one of those perfect scenarios where they got the exact right guy for the exact right part and the world was better for it.”
Mark adds his rhythms and subtleties, tones, and delivery that also helped inform my performance. He was the ideal partner. It was such a complimentary creative experience. I couldn’t have done it without him. He will always be my Batman.
Following news of his death fellow voice actor Tara Strong, shares a photo of herself and Kevin and says:-
I don’t have the words, not today. My heart is broken. There will never be another he is Batman. She adds the hashtag #restinpeacelegend.”
Kevin Conroy was featured in the 2013 documentary I know that voice and told a now-famous story about being recognized when he was volunteering to help first responders after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
Kevin said:-
One guy in the middle of the night like three nights into this he goes, so my day job is I’m an architect. He says What’s your day job? I said well, I do voice is mostly what I knew it. He said you’re the guy who does Batman, you’re that Kevin Conroy, So goes into this dining hall.”
And this is you know, the first week after the attack and you’ve been like just as somber sadness. And you’re gonna go guys, guys, you’re not gonna believe who’s been cooking your dinners. It’s Batman. That’s someone else’s make him prove it. So that oh, this is good. So I’m in the back kitchen. I do from the back kitchen. I am vengeance. I am the Knight. I am Batman.”

Slow pause until you hear from the back of the place. Holy. That is Batman. And suddenly people were laughing. And the architect who had recognized me said, What’s it feel like to be Santa Claus? So because that’s what just happened here.”
