Frasier Reboot Release Date
The Frasier reboot is set to premiere on October 12, 2023, with a two-episode launch on Paramount+ in the US and Canada. The show will debut in other international markets, including the UK, on October 13, 2023, with the same two-episode premiere. The rest of the 10-episode season will be released weekly on Thursdays.
As a special treat for fans, CBS will also air the first two episodes of the reboot on broadcast TV on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, five days after the new series debuts on Paramount+.

Cast and Characters
The Frasier reboot will see the return of Kelsey Grammer as Frasier Crane, who has moved back to Boston after living in Seattle and Chicago for many years. Grammer will also serve as an executive producer and direct one episode of the new series.

The only other original cast member who will reprise her role as a regular is Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle, Frasier’s former producer and longtime friend. Gilpin will also be an executive producer on the reboot.
However, fans can expect to see some guest appearances from other familiar faces from the original series, such as Jane Leeves as Daphne Moon, Frasier’s former housekeeper and sister-in-law; Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith Sternin, Frasier’s ex-wife and mother of his son Frederick; and Ted Danson as Sam Malone, Frasier’s friend and former colleague at Cheers.
Unfortunately, David Hyde Pierce will not return as Niles Crane, Frasier’s younger brother and fellow psychiatrist. Pierce declined to reprise his role due to scheduling conflicts and creative differences. He also felt that Niles’ story arc was complete and did not want to tarnish his legacy.
Another notable absence is John Mahoney, who played Martin Crane, Frasier’s father and a retired police officer. Mahoney passed away in 2018 at the age of 77. The reboot will pay tribute to him by naming the bar frequented by Frasier and his friends Mahoney’s.
The reboot will also introduce some new characters to spice up Frasier’s life. They include:
- Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frederick Crane, Frasier’s son who is now a successful lawyer and has a secret that he is hiding from his father.
- Jess Salgueiro as Eve, a smart and sassy bartender at Mahoney’s who becomes Frasier’s love interest.
- Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, a successful businesswoman and Frederick’s fiancée who clashes with Frasier.
- Anders Keith David as Crane, Frasier’s half-brother who is a successful podcaster and motivational speaker.
- Parvesh Cheena as Dev Sharma, a young and enthusiastic radio producer who works with Frasier.
- Jimmy Dunn as Moose, a loyal regular at Mahoney’s who is always ready to offer advice or a joke.
- Renee Pezzotta as Smokey, a tough but kind-hearted waitress at Mahoney’s who has a soft spot for Frasier.
- Cheyenne Perez as Saara, a quirky and bubbly intern who assists Dev and Frasier.
- Kevin Daniels as Tiny, a former NFL player who is now a sports commentator and a friend of Frasier.
- John Bucy as Roger, a snooty rival radio host who competes with Frasier.

Plot and Storyline
The Frasier reboot will follow Frasier Crane as he returns to Boston after experiencing some personal and professional setbacks. He decides to start over by hosting a new radio show called “The Good Doctor”, where he offers advice and insights to his listeners.
However, he soon realizes that he has some unresolved issues of his own that he needs to deal with. He also has to reconnect with his son Frederick, who has grown up to be a successful lawyer and is engaged to a woman that Frasier does not approve of. He also has to deal with his half-brother Crane, who is a more popular and charismatic podcaster than him.
Frasier will also find romance in the form of Eve, a witty and attractive bartender at Mahoney’s, the bar where he hangs out with his old and new friends. However, he will also face some challenges and obstacles in his love life, such as his ex-wife Lilith, who still has some feelings for him.
The reboot will aim to capture the essence and spirit of the original series, while also updating it for the modern era. It will explore new themes and topics, such as social media, online dating, podcasting, and generational differences. It will also maintain the trademark humor, wit, and sophistication that made Frasier a classic sitcom.
