We will never there was never a question of commitment or whether we’re going to go for a win or not. It did become a bit of a distraction for us in New Zealand. But from then on, it was just focused on one game at a time and now we are in the finals, which we can’t wait to be a part of.”
India started Day 3 positively. Washington Sundar and Axar Patel took a special liking to Dom Bess as runs started to flow. In no time, India’s lead went past hundreds, and then came the century partnership between Sundar and Axar for 8th wicket.
The 106 runs stand between the two was finally broken courtesy of a run-out. Axar was dismissed for 40. And Sundar was looking all set for 100 with 4 runs to get. Unfortunately, for the youngster in the very next over both Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Siraj were dismissed. India was all out for 365 runs with Sundar stranded unbeaten on 96 runs.
The host continued the dominance with the ball as well. Ravichandran Ashwin picks back to back wickets, Jonny Bairstow
follows Zak Crawley back in the pavilion as England was reduced to 10 for 2 wickets.
Axar then landed a double blow. Dom Sibley was dismissed in an unfortunate manner. Ben Stokes was caught at leg slip and England we’re in deep trouble at a 34/4 score.

Ravichandran Ashwin then trapped Root with an LBW in the next over as England was six down for 65. The visitors managed to cross the 100 run mark and Axar Patel struck once again. The left-arm spinner soon added yet another five-for to his kitty his fourth of the series.
Ravichandran Ashwin also joined Axar in the Five wicket club as India wrapped up the proceedings on day three.
