Deirdre Purcell followed different professions professionally. After beginning her career as a civil servant in the Civil Service Commission in Ireland she only worked for the next six months. She then joined as a flight attendant with Aer Lingus. When she was performing her duties as a flight attendant she found in her that she is having a talent for acting when she participated in one event of the airline’s musical and dramatic society.
