Dakaichi Season 2 Release Date, Plot, Where to Watch, Trailer, Recap, Story & More

If you are a fan of Yaoi anime, you might have heard of Dakaichi, a romantic comedy series that follows the relationship between two rival idols. The first season of Dakaichi, based on a manga by Hashigo Sakurabi, aired in 2018 and was a hit among viewers who enjoyed the steamy scenes and the humorous moments between the main characters. But what about the second season? Is it coming out soon? What can we expect from it? Here is everything you need to know about Dakaichi Season 2.
What is Dakaichi about?
Dakaichi, which means “the most huggable man has threatened me”, is a story about Takato Saijou, a veteran actor who has been voted the sexiest man of the year for five consecutive years. However, his reign is challenged by Junta Azumaya, a newcomer who dethrones him and takes his title.
Takato is furious and resentful of Junta, but things take an unexpected turn when Junta catches him drunk and blackmails him for physical affection. Thus begins a complicated and passionate relationship between the two idols, who have to deal with their feelings, their careers, and their fans.
When will Dakaichi Season 2 premiere?
Unfortunately, there is no official announcement yet about the renewal of Dakaichi for a second season. The first season, which consisted of 13 episodes, ended in December 2018, and since then, there has been no news from the studio CloverWorks or the author of the manga.
However, this does not mean that there is no hope for a second season. Anime shows sometimes take a long time to renew, and there are many factors that influence the decision, such as the popularity of the source material, the availability of the staff and the cast, and the budget.
Moreover, the manga is still ongoing, and there is enough material for a new season. Therefore, we think that there is a decent chance that Dakaichi will be renewed for a second season. If that happens, our best guess is that Dakaichi Season 2 could premiere sometime in 2024.
